📊 Getting Started With CoinTracker — A Step‑by‑Step Guide

1. Create Your CoinTracker Account

You can sign up either on the web or in the mobile app:

On the Web:

  1. Open your browser and go to CoinTracker.
  2. Click “Start for free.”
  3. Enter your email address and click Continue.
  4. Create a password and click Continue.
  5. Confirm your email after signing up.

On the App (iOS/Android):

  1. Install the CoinTracker app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Open the app and tap Start for free.
  3. Swipe through the introduction and tap Create account.
  4. Complete the signup in the browser that opens, then confirm your email.

📌 Tip: If you sign up with Google, Apple, or Coinbase, the email can’t be changed later, so use one you plan to keep.

🔗 2. Add Your Wallets & Exchanges

To use CoinTracker, connect all the places where you hold or trade crypto:

  1. Go to the Wallets section in CoinTracker.
  2. Click Add wallet.
  3. Choose how you want to connect:
    • Automatic sync via API key (best).
    • CSV upload from exchanges/wallets.
  4. Add all wallets/exchanges, even old ones — this ensures accurate portfolio totals and tax reports.

🗂 3. Organize Connected Wallets

Once connected:

  • Rename wallets (e.g., “Binance Main,” “MetaMask ETH”) so it’s easier to identify them later — especially if you have multiple wallets on the same chain.

🔍 4. Review Your Transactions

Check the imported transactions to make sure everything is accurate:

  • Look for missing or duplicate entries.
  • Correct or sync additional data if needed.
This gives you the most accurate performance tracking and tax calculation.

💳 5. Choose a CoinTracker Plan

After syncing wallets:

  • CoinTracker will show your total transaction count.
  • Pick a subscription plan that fits your needs — higher counts require higher plans.
  • You can pay with card or stablecoins if available.

🧾 6. Generate & Download Tax Reports

Once everything is synced and reviewed:

  1. Go to the Taxes section.
  2. Download your tax reports (e.g., capital gains summaries).
  3. You can email reports to your accountant/CPA if needed.
